Home at the Goldener Adler

Here in this room poured a lot of milk 🙂

Until 2019, the kitchen was located here on the 1st floor.

The room 105 was our sweet corner.

Milk, flour, eggs, you can almost smell it, our unique Kaiserschmarrn! You can get it on the first floor in our restaurant.

The only difference: after a major renovation in 2019/2020, the kitchen is located on the ground floor, right next to the wine bar. You are welcome to take a look at our kitchen; we look forward to your visit.

Today there is no excursion tip for you but a recipe for an excellent Kaiserschmarrn, which you can cook at home,a piece of Goldener Adler for you at home.

Recipe Kaiserschmarrn

Ingridients:

350g flour
500ml milk
1 teaspoon sugar
1 dash of sparkling mineral water
3 eggs
1 pinch of salt
raisins

Instructions:

  1. Separate yolks and egg whites and beat egg whites until stiff. Whisk egg yolks, sugar and milk until foamy. Fold in the flour and then add the beaten egg whites. Add a pinch of salt and the mineral water, stir everything with a whisk, then make the smooth, thick dough a little and let it rest.
  2. Heat some butter in a large frying pan, then slowly pour in the batter and fry it on both sides with the help of a spatula. Then place the pan in a preheated oven (approx. 180°C convection oven) and bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden brown.
  3. Then take the finished Kaiserschmarrn out of the oven and tear it into pieces, add raisins if desired and then put the pan in the oven again for about 1 minute.
  4. Finally, there is something for everyone: either just sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy or accompanied by a fresh applesauce, stewed fruit, cranberries or who likes it heartier with an endive salad a hit!

We say bon appétit and good luck!
